Set in the historic city of Salem, the Witch City race venue is located in beautiful Forest River Park. The swim course is a .5 mile ocean swim in a fairly sheltered cove in Salem Harbor.
After a quick change in the transition zone, the athletes take on the 13 mile bike course. This fast bike course follows city streets out to Marblehead Neck. (It can get a bit windy on the way out to the neck). After three loops around the neck, allowing plenty of time to check out some gorgeous homes, it's back through the city streets to Forest River Park.
After another quick transition in the transition zone, it's on to the run course--a single loop around the streets of Salem, back into Forest River Park, and under the huge FIRM finish banner where you can grab a refreshing bottle of water before rehashing your race with your buddies. |

Quadmultisport, the official bicycle mechanic and support vehicle for the 2009 FIRM Race Series, will be available at the race venue for minor repairs, and will provide support on the Quadmultisport bicycle course.
The top three finishers for elites, age groupers, athenas, clydesdales, and relay teams will receive medals and prizes.
At the awards ceremony, Quadmultisport will hold a drawing for a Quintana Roo wetsuit. And, of course, throughout the day there will be music, yummy treats, and plenty of fun.
Contact FIRM's official coaching organization, Vescio Multisport Performance Services (www.mpstraining.com), if you would like coaching services to help you get ready for the Witch City Triathlon.
